Tanto Cuore is a Deck Building Card Game for 2-4 players. The players take the roles of "masters of the house", employ a lot of cute maids, and are served by them while slowly filling out their house (card deck).
But take care. The maids can become sick, or get bad habits. When the game ends, tha player who has the most victory point-gaining maids in his staff (all his cards) is the "perfect master" and the winner of the game.
Tanto Cuore is a rather excellent deck building game with many similarities to Dominion. I can see many gamers being put off by the playfully suggestive theme of the game (employing cute maids who are paid for with 'love' cards) but I would urge such people to take a second look, because behind the theme lies some extremely subtle and well balanced gameplay.
When reading the rules for the first time it seemed to me that this game *was* Dominion, with each player starting with a deck of 7 '1 cash' cards and 3 '1 victory point' cards, and each turn drawing a hand of 5 cards, and having 1 action (to play a card) and 1 buy (to buy a new card) available. All cards played from your hand, and any cards you buy, are put into your discard pile at the end of your turn, and you draw a new hand of 5 cards. When your deck is exhausted, you shuffle your discard pile together and it becomes your new deck; thus, as the game progresses, your deck acquires more powerful cards, and the hands you draw from it get better and better.
In practice, Tanto Cuore feels like a completely different game from Dominion; certainly a much more complicated one, with it's many different paths to victory, and it's opportunity to target other players with attacks ('illness' and 'bad habit' cards). The ability to remove cards from your deck and put them into play (and still score points for you at the end of the game) makes your decks more powerful than Dominion decks in the late stages of the game.
If you want to play a deck building game that requires a little more thought, then this may well be the game for you!
